Julie & Chris Winter Engagement
Taking on the 'photography assistant' role has turned out to be extremely rewarding. I'm always glad when Becky asks me to help out on a photo shoot. After days of frigid cold and wind, the weather in Minnesota decided to cooperate just in time for our engagement photo shoot with Julie and Chris. The day was as perfect as you could ask for in winter - clear and bright enough that standing in the sun actual provided some warmth.
Along the Stone Arch Bridge with the Minneapolis skyline behind them, Julie and Chris showed off their quiet chemistry. The constant stream of dog-walkers also let them show off their love of dogs!
Once we had the bridge and skyline shots completed, we walked along Main Street near the bridge, where the classically styled, ivy covered buildings provided more great backdrops for our couple. Melted by the sun which before today had been so conspicuously absent, some of the icicles along those buildings looked especially threatening to me. Despite my best efforts (i.e. throwing my gloves to try to knock them down), the icicles held on and we picked another spot. Safety first!
After a quick stop at Wilde's Cafe, we ended our day in the Guthrie Theater, along the Endless Bridge. There's always someone there with a camera, and for good reason. It's the perfect place to admire the Stone Arch Bridge from above and offers a beautiful view of the east side of the river. The weather cooperated, but our subjects are what really made it such a successful day. Julie and Chris are a great couple - we can't wait to see how beautiful their wedding is.
